Only Real food at Wild Foods.Co

Last week I got my first box from Wild Foods Co. I purchased some cocoa butter, their cocotropic mix and, matcha. After spending the last week testing out their products and loving the effects they have been going me, I decided that a review was in order.

Wild Cocoa Butter Wafers are Raw, organically grown, Unrefined, Non-Deodorized, Food Grade and Certified Fair-Trade Cacao butter from small family farmers. You can cook with it, add it to your shakes, smoothies and coffee recipes, it also serves as a wonderful base for your skincare needs. some of the health benefits from cocoa butter include; reducing inflammation, improved skin health, prevent signs of aging, boost the immune system and improve the quality of your hair.

When I first opened the box, which by the way was unbelievably cute. Outside are small quotes from the mission of Wild Foods, inside is an outdoor scene with a river, camping and of course the Wild Foods Moose. The thought and time they took to put out such a thoughtful package is evident in the box and contents there in.

I saw the cocoa butter bag and had to open it first. I had never seen real cocoa butter before. As soon as I opened the bag I could smell the cocoa. Have you ever smelled fresh, clean cocoa butter? up until this point I my life I never had.  The smell instantly made me smile, so pure and untouched I wanted to just smell it. Forget using it I could have just sat there and smelled it. The Next day was the first time I used it in my coffee. Now I am not a chocolate girl I never have liked mochas but let me tell you this is not like chocolate it has such a smooth taste not like bitter dark chocolate but smooth with just a hint of dark. I do have to say I drink mine with almond or coconut milk which may give it more of a dark taste. The taste is just enough that you feel like you’re having a chocolate mocha with extra cream but you’re not, you’re getting in your fat in a super tasty way. It has definitely become a staple in my morning coffee.

After researching all the great products Wild foods has I decided the cocotropic had to be on my first order list. Not only do I love that this is a cocoa mix but it has turmeric in it which is great for my inflammation and my IBS. Since starting the cocotropic my gut has vastly improved in terms of functionality. The mind clarity from the chaga and the reishi has been giving me is phenomenal, I thought I was doing a good job with just keto alone this mix is a whole different ball game. Ill never forget my keys again. It will forever be a part of my morning coffee routine.

Not only did I get it for me I also got the cocotropic mix for my kids I really want to get them away from the sugary mixes that are out there. They have too much sugar all day at school when they’re here I try to do what I can. At first, they wanted nothing to do with it artificial sweeteners are not their thing. Though after some tweaking it is safe to say that wild foods cocotropic is a favorite in my house. My sons have a glass every morning with breakfast.

Throughout my life I have been a huge green tea fan. Matcha has been around forever but only recently has it become more mainstream. I have been trying to find a company that produced a high quality matcha that delivered to the USA. Believe it or not it’s pretty hard to find good quality at a decent price or at all that delivers to the USA. I had already been looking into wild foods co when I saw they had come out with their matcha #2 and matcha cerimanial grade matcha powders. After seeing where it came from, and reading up on what the farm was like, and how the pricing was I couldn't pass it up. From the first cup I was a changed girl. The energy, concentration, and focus that is provides are substantial and sustained instead of a hard crash a few hours later. Therefore, it never gave me that "hard crash" coffee does. Paying attention to how much is used and if the water is hot enough will play a huge roll in taste. Put in a little it goes along way one tsp, whisk, taste if it’s still to “watery” add one more tsp. I put too much in mine and at the end of my cup I was drinking the left-over powder, it was kinda grassy. It was also my second time making it, after that I researched and found out if you don't get the temperature all the way up to 165° it won't steep correct. Since then I have made it the right way and it comes out awesome. I suggest if your looking to get a cold tea out of this to get the ceremonial grade #1 it has the best taste for stand alone tea. The #2 matcha (which I have) is said to be better for lattes, baked goods and mixes.
